This sculpture was commissioned by a shoe designer and depicts two large wings made from used shoe soles, stripped of their uppers and assembled together. A humble, worn material, the sole — a symbol of walking and hardship — here becomes a sign of rebirth and freedom. The work also evokes the journeys of migrants, recalling the piles of abandoned shoes that so often stand as silent witnesses to interrupted stories. Gathered and reassembled in an act of care and remembrance, the soles are transformed into wings of redemption, as if those lives, those paths of pain and search, could finally take flight. In this sculpture, lightness and weight, fall and ascent coexist.

Questa scultura è stata commissionata da un designer di scarpe e raffigura due grandi ali realizzate con suole di scarpe usate, private della tomaia e assemblate. Materiale umile e consumato, la suola — simbolo del cammino e della fatica — diventa qui segno di rinascita e libertà. L’opera porta con sé anche un richiamo ai viaggi dei migranti, ai mucchi di scarpe abbandonate che spesso diventano testimonianza silenziosa di storie interrotte.Le suole, raccolte e ricomposte in un gesto di cura e memoria, si trasformano in ali di riscatto, come se quelle vite, quei percorsi di dolore e di ricerca, potessero finalmente spiccare il volo. In questa scultura convivono leggerezza e peso, caduta e ascesa.
